Happy Birthday Sophie!

We had such a grand time with Bret and family and our Sophie who turned TWO years old! Jason, Melinda, Laura and Sara came to our party which made everything perfect! Sophie adores Laura and Sara and they adore her. They smile at each other and give hugs and kisses complete with giggles and fun. It is just precious to watch the girls be girlie. Speaking of girlie the cake and ice cream were PINK. The cake had princess rings in it and the girls had so much fun wearing the rings and playing. What a special day with our family. We loved every minute of our time together. Happy Birthday Sophie!

Teenagers!

We had the first of our three oldest grandsons turning the big "13" in 2009!

Adam was the first one on January 11th. We had a great birthday dinner with cake and ice cream to celebrate his big day. We really enjoyed Bret and family so much including our Sophie girl. We had a really lovely day filled with love and a fun 13th Birthday party!

Next up will be Tyler's 13th birthday on the 28th of January and Bryson will be joining the group and we will officially have "Three Teenage boys" by February 15.

I guess 2009 will really shine as we prepare for new adventures with the new trio!!! Does that mean triple the FUN in 2009?

New Year 2009

We had a great time celebrating the New Year with Bob, Keri and family up from Saint George and Todd, Tyler, Rylie and Taryn. We had so much fun eating, playing "Rockband", laughing and enjoying the moment.
I love to watch the kids pair off with favorite cousins their own age, which has worked out so well in our family, and just make their own fun. It is great to see the excitment on their faces when we all get together. I think it is so cool to see how much they really not only love each other but really like each other.
We toasted in the New Year in together! I even stayed up until 1:00 P.M. while grandpa Dan faded away just after midnight! It made me feel happy that I could actually hang in there!
Good times once again thanks to our family!

Recap of 2008

I want to find out who is fast forwarding our lives? Time as a knew it has changed somehow...it just goes faster than in past years...I don't know how... but it just does and this past year is no exception!
We have had a fun and eventful life through 2008. We are getting older and a wee bit of gray hair is showing up and our children are getting a wee bit older and some are showing a wee bit of gray hair too! Grandchildren are getting older and more beautiful daily and continue to be such an amazing and joyful part of our lives.
We appreciate what good parents our children are to our grandchildren....THANK YOU for doing such a wonderful job of raising and loving our wonderful grandchildren. You are all such a big part of our lives and we don't know what we would do without all of you! You provide us with so much to look forward to, fun times and so much comic relief along the way! Perhaps life is so full of living that may explain the reason that time goes by so quickly....we are having the time of our lives. I can't wait to see what 2009 has in store. Bring it on!

Chritmas 2008

Christmas day began with our annual Christmas breakfast at Jason and Melinda's. Before breakfast, however, we got to see Laura and Sara unwrap some of their presents and see the joy and excitement on Christmas morning. Afterward, we had a delicious breakfast consiting of french toast with homemade buttermilk syrup (yum yum!) sausage, and orange juice. We had a delightful time.

On Christmas eve, Todd, Tyler, Rylie and Taryn spent time with us and had fun sleeping over night and spending the remainder of Christmas day with us. We watched the classic movie, "It's a Wonderful Life," and on Christmas day we all watched "The Christmas Story" which still makes me laugh...what a great movie!

One of the highlights of the day was when Todd hooked up the big screen downstairs with "Rock Band" & Dan & I listened to an amazing concert complete with Rylie as the lead singer, Todd and Taryn on guitars and Tyler playing drums! Actually, we helped with some singing too and we sounded semi professional! Ah, well ya know....we tried! Bret also got the same "Rock Band" game and when they came they were already warmed up and they had a great time continuing the concert!

I cooked a bone in ham that took 5 hours to bake and our home smelled like the Christmas's I remember as a child. We had foods of every kind and enjoyed every bite with Todd & Bret and his family.

What a grand time we had together! This was a really good Christmas for everyone this year....check out Jason & Melinda's blog and Bob & Keri's blog. Good times

Adams Christmas Party

Susan invited Dan & I, Tom and Dorothy, Kevin & Geri and Debbie & Ondre to a delightful Christmas party at her beautiful new home in Springville. We had a great visit including some delicious food to eat. Susan made a pork roast and a beef roast. I had never heard of a spoon roast before and we all enjoyed it very much! We exchanged gifts, laughed and all in all had so much fun together. I wrote down my childhood Christmas Memories. I had the great opportunity to read it to everyone and it brought back so many fun times we shared together as kids. We laughed and reminisced about times past and felt so good about sharing time together. It was a lovely time we shared as a family. It is the simple times we share that really mean the most!

White Christmas

We have been covered with snow into a delightful winter wonderland! We got more than 8 inches of snow in Orem! We love the beauty of the blue skies and fresh white snow to guarantee an old fashioned White Christmas this year. We are looking forward to a fun filled day to celebrate Christmas with our family. The older I get the more I enjoy the quiet simple things of life! Life is good!
