Mother's Day!

Melinda was so sweet to honor me for mother's day with a wonderful dinner....Salmon to die for other yummy foods to complete our meal. It was a dinner to savor. Laura and Sara made me the sweetest cards for mothers day and Jason and Melinda bought a backup system for our computers to boot! Can you spell SPOILED! That is certainly how I felt.

Thanks to Jason and Melinda we always feel loved and very special! Laura and Sara are completely entertaining and we enjoyed every minute we spent when them! Thanks so much we had a wonderful time.

Happy Mother's Day to you Melinda...You are an awesome Mom to our adorable and delightful granddaughters! Melinda "served me" on Mother's Day without thinking of herself...can you see why we love her so much?

Hannah's Honors Recital

Bret, Jacob, Aaron, Dan, Debbie and I had a fabulous time at Hannah's Senior Honors Recital. It was a wonderful evening of music as we listened to Hannah and Grant Simper play some beautiful music. Hannah's teacher, Connie Bell prepared her so well. Hannah not only looked beautiful but played beautifully too. She looked very confident as she played music that was very difficult and Hannah had all but one of her eight songs memorized! I do not know how she could memorize such long and complicated pieces but she did and played amazing on the large black grand piano. We were all impressed and got our desire for the beauty of classical music fulfilled to our highest expectations. This was an evening well spent! Thanks Hannah for such a lovely time.

Melinda's Big Birthday!

Melinda hit the big 30 and she is taking it in stride. I reminded her that she is still a pup! She reminded me that it makes sense to be turning thirty since she is married and has two adorable girls and another girl due in August....30 works just great! We all agree and we sang a big birthday song for her more than once. We had great food, cake and Ice cream, laughter and fun. We were happy that "grandma great" could be with us. It was a sunny, warm and wonderful day! Happy Birthday Melinda!

Easter

We had a joyful and wonderful Easter Sunday and combined a Birthday party for Todd on Sunday. We enjoyed Rylie, Tyler and Taryn...they are such teriffic kids. The day started out with our Sophie but she had to go home early because she was sick. We were sad to see her go. That said, we did have such a great time together. We had good food and good conversation. I am so grateful for my family and I love you all so much! Lucky Me!

As we reflect upon the true meaning of Easter and the Atoning sacrifice of our Savior my heart has been full and I have been filled with such gratitude for Jesus Christ. We are so blessed as a family and for this beautiful day.

Conference Weekend

What an amazing time to get our personal batteries recharged! Dan and I certainly wanted and needed that spiritual uplifting that was poured out in full measure to everyone who listened to our living prophet and our living apostles. We have truly been spiritually feed! I feel such love and gratitude for my blessings and especially for our family. We love and appreciate each one of you for your love and all the contributions that you each fully make to keep our family strong and united.

On Sunday Bret, Sophie and the boys came to watch conference and enjoy dinner together. It really made the day a special one. We enjoyed our time together and appreciated the wee bit nicer weather. The boys played catch in the backyard and it felt like spring just might happen soon!

Home Improvements

We had a delightful time seeing the Jason & Melinda and two very cute girls recently! We had lunch with the family at a diner near Jason & Melinda's home. Spanky's food was good but not great. The company was great though and we had a great time together.

After lunch we went to see all the new home improvements that our kids have been up to. Whew, it makes me tired just seeing what they have accomplished! We saw the new back splash in the kitchen, the new bathroom (almost finished) in the basement, Sara's new big girl room and big girl bed! She grew up too fast. Then we went outside on one of the few nice and sunny days that we have had and saw the newly planted trees in the front yard, and the lovely new swing set for the girls. We had a fun time playing with the girls outside on the play set. It is super nice! The girls just love it ....the slide, swings and climbing wall. They are just too fun and too cute. Jason and Melinda make quite the team in getting it all done and doing everything just right! Nice work!

Hannah's 18th Birthday!!!

Yes, it is true, our Hannah turned 18 years old on March 15th! We had a birthday dinner with balloons cake and ice cream. We had such a wonderful celebration! Happy Birthday Hannah!!!

Hannah received some beautiful gifts of jewelry for her big day. I got her a topaz (her birthstone) necklace and her dad got her a dolphin necklace that was hand carved and lovely. He also got her mother of pearl earrings and necklace that are just gorgeous! She loved her new treasures and she will look beautiful wearing them!

What a special time for Hannah and her future. Our girl will be graduating in May from Bingham High School. Hannah will be attending Utah State University in Logan next fall which I am still having a hard time believing that she is truly all grown up and ready to leave home and go away to college! Whew!

We love Hannah so much and we are very proud of her and her accomplishments!
