Candle Lighting 2009

Warm hearts and a warm glow as we did our family candle lighting party. This tradition is 21 years and running strong. I don't think my family would ever be OK if we did not get together for this special tradition. Great food, love and great conversation with our family.

Remembering the "Light of Christ" in our lives and the birth, life and the atonement of our Savior is the reason for our Christmas season. We have so much love for Him and our family. We
are truly blessed!

Fall Leaves

We drove up South Fork Canyon with Dan's mom to enjoy the leaves and even though we were a wee bit late the color and the mountains were still beautiful. We all had a milkshake afterwards and enjoyed our time together.

Eliza's Baby Blessing!

We had such an amazing and fun baby blessing on Sunday. Eliza's looked beautiful in her lovely white long blessing dress complete with hair band and white shoes. She was just the perfect baby that is so loved by so many!

Both families that totaled 42 people came to support our little Eliza on her special day. Jason gave a beautiful blessing for his beautiful daughter.

After the blessing we went to Jason and Melinda's house and had a super delicious brunch with a potato bar, fruit and relish tray and cake. Melinda did such a great job planning and putting it all together. Thanks to Jason and Melinda for presenting us with this new baby to love and enjoy.

We had such a great day to remember!

BIG WIN!!!

Yep it's true...it really is... BYU won their opening game against the Oklahoma Sooner's ranked number 3 in the nation! We could hardly believe our eyes when the Cougars pulled off a "W" in the last few minutes of the game and won by a score of 14 to 13!!! We watched the game with Bob, Keri and kids, Debbie & Ondre, Jake and Bryson and we had such a great time yelling and cheering them on to victory. McKay Jacobson caught a wide open pass in the end zone from Max hall to seal the victory.

The game was the first college game played in the new Dallas Cowboys stadium in Dallas, Texas. From all reports the stadium was a tremendous setting for a football game with all the bells and whistles.

After the game,Bob drove the Hummer down 1-15 all the way to South Jordan with the Big "Y" lights on his car getting honks of approval all the way home.

It was a great win for our conference.

Just days later BYU is ranked number 9 in the polls. This should prove to be an exciting year for BYU and cougar fans.

Sunday and family

I love spending time with out families on Sunday. It just caps of a perfect day.

When Jason & Melinda called to invite us to dinner and to see the girls, all three of them, they got a quick YES response from me. I could not wait to see Laura, Sara and to hold and kiss on our new baby.

We had a wonderful ham dinner and may I add that any meal cooked at their home is delicious! Baby Eliza was dessert and we all could not get enough of her. She got lots of hugs and kisses from everyone. Too much fun. Grandma Great got to meet our newest and 17th granddaughter and she gave her a thumbs up. What precious girls we have to love and enjoy.

What a special day we all had together. Thanks to Jason & Melinda for a wonderful day!

Basement is completed

My uncle Tom and aunt Dorothy had a wonderful party at their home to celebrate the completion of their basement complete with lots of people including Kevin and Geri, Susan and Carl, Debbie and Ondre and Tom's children and their spouses and children, cousins and extended family. It was just great to eat, visit and just have some fun.

Tom did so much of the work himself and they hired out what things Tom either did not know how to do or preferred not to do. They hired a decorator to complete the space and it turned out just lovely. It is a great looking and functional space. It looks great!

Enjoyed every minute of our time together!!!

TJ turns 10

Sweet...TJ is 10 already! How fast time keeps moving by and grand kids just keep getting older and smarter every day. TJ is such a good kid and a delight to just be around.
We had a fun birthday last night with hot dogs and lots of food to eat and cake and ice cream. TJ had family and friends to shower him with gifts and best wishes. After the party all the kids went to a family fun center to celebrate the big day. Happy Birthday TJ...you are a sweetheart!

It was also good to see Keri's friend Nikki who popped in for the birthday. Keri and Nikki have been friends since they were 14 years old.

Eliza Is Here!!!

We are so excited to finally meet, hold, hug and kiss our newest grandchild!!! Eliza is absolutely beautiful and perfect in every way and has brought so much joy to our family already. Even though she was 4 weeks early she had only a minor low blood sugar issue for a day. What a blessing! Eliza was born on August 3,2009. She weighed 7 lbs and was 17" long. What a miracle to have her here and well and Mom is doing great again...finally!

Melinda had such a tough pregnancy that the only fair thing to do was to have a perfect baby. She is a great eater with no spitting up or colic and she is easy going and a very good sleeper. Just what mom and dad ordered.

Now this beautiful family of FIVE is complete! Laura, Sara and Mom and Dad are just adoring their newest little one. Great work Melinda, you did an awesome job! We are go grateful to have Melinda on the mend and feeling better every day! Life is wonderful!

Happy 4th of July

We had such a great time at our 4th of July picnic this year. Debbie, Ondre & Jake, Todd, Rylie, Tyler, Taryn, Keri, Keslie, McKenzie, TJ, Emily, Ayshia, Bret & Hannah and Dan's mom all made it such fun. We talked and laughed and ate great food. The cousins had a blast playing and truly enjoying one another. I am so happy that our grandchildren really love each other.

I love the 4th of July and celebrating our freedoms and the love of our country. We are so blessed to live here right now in this moment of history and enjoying all the bounteous blessings we share as a family. No wonder the 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays!

Cinderella Ballet

Laura entertained us on Saturday in her second ballet performance. I am so impressed with the ballet company. Everything is beautifully staged and professional. Melinda found a first rate class for Laura. The scenery, costumes and everthing were outstanding.

Alas, Laura was indeed amazing in her dance. She looked beautiful in her blue costume and her hair was in a perfect bun. She not only knew her dance perfectly but she made sure that everyone else was doing the steps correctly too! It was such a delight and I could not get the smile off of my face watching her...loved it!

Melinda did a great job with choreographing the ballet class she teaches and the children danced it well!

Sara turns "2"

Yes, that's right our Sara is two years old and absolutely delightful. We had such a fun birthday party which included Melinda's parents and it is always good to see them. Our star...Sara...enjoyed every moment of opening her presents of books, 3 adorable Minnie Mouse Pictures for her bedroom made by her mom, a baby stroller and two pink baby dolls! She was excited about everything. She squealed in utter joy and surprise every time we sang Happy Birthday and she blew out her candles and said..."I did it!" We had so much fun just watching her have so much fun on her birthday. Great memories!

Hannah Graduates from High School

Yikes! It happened, Dad & I have our first grandchild graduating from high school. Where and how did the time go by so quickly? Our beautiful and talented Hannah is growing up and will be attending Utah State this fall. It was so exciting to see Hannah sing with the a' ca paella choir and Madrigals during the graduation ceremony from Bingham High School. The program was held at Utah Valley University and it was good but long (3 hours) with over 740ish graduates.

We enjoyed a lunch at our favorite Thai restaurant in Orem and our Hannah, Bret, Todd, Aaron and Jacob and I had more than enough to eat and loved every bite.

Hannah left the day after graduation to fly to France to meet her friend and tour for 2 weeks! I can only imagine how much fun she will have....can't wait to hear all about it!
